Key Features

  • The Heritage of Black Tea
Lapsang Souchong holds a pivotal place in tea history, with its production in the Tongmuguan area of Fujian representing a centuries-old tradition often regarded as the origin of black tea.
  • The Signature Pine-Smoking Craft
The tea is traditionally smoked over pine needles (from the Masson pine), a meticulous process that gently infuses the leaves with their signature smoky aroma, creating a flavor profile that is both distinctive and inseparable from its heritage.
  • Traditional Craft, Consistent Character
Made through the traditional steps of pine-smoking, withering, rolling, full oxidation, and drying, the process is carefully managed to ensure the smoky, sweet, and robust qualities are consistently present in every batch.

Origin & Growing Environment
Our authentic Lapsang Souchong is sourced from the Tongmuguan area within the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian—the tea's historic birthplace. The region's high-altitude, misty environment provides the foundation. The local abundance of pine trees is integral to its traditional production. The tea gardens are maintained using natural methods without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

Cultivation & Craftsmanship

  • We employ natural cultivation methods and harvest leaves suited for this style.
  • The craft is defined by the traditional pine-smoking. The leaves are withered over smoldering pine needles, absorbing the distinctive aroma. They then undergo rolling, full oxidation, and drying, with smoking sometimes repeated, to develop the tea’s deep color, rich smoky notes, and full body.

Three Ways to Enjoy

  1. Hot Brew (Classic & Bold)
Best for experiencing its traditional character. Use 1 sachet per 300ml (10 oz) of water at 195-205°F (90-96°C). Steep for 2-3 minutes. Its robust flavor stands up well on its own.
  2. As a Blending Base (Robust Pairings)
Its strong character makes it excellent for blends:
    • Smoky Milk Tea: Add warm milk (a 1:4 ratio) to hot-brewed tea. The milk beautifully mellows the smokiness.
    • Spiced & Smoked: Brew with a few slices of fresh ginger.
    • Citrus-Smoked Tea: Add a lemon slice to hot or cold brew to cut through the richness.
  1. Cold Brew (Smooth & Mellow)
For a surprisingly smooth and less intense iced tea. Use 1 sachet with 500ml (17 oz) of cold water. Refrigerate for 4-6 hours. Cold brewing softens the smoky edges and highlights its underlying sweetness.
