Key Features
- “One Bush, One Aroma” – The Essence of Scarcity
Harvested from ancient tea bushes on Fenghuang Mountain, each individual plant, due to its unique environment and age, develops its own aromatic signature. This results in a fascinating range of non-standardized flavors, from delicate florals to rich, fruity notes.
- Ancient Bushes, Deep-Rooted Character
Some tea bushes are centuries old, with roots deep in Fenghuang Mountain’s mineral-rich acidic soil. Nurtured by high-altitude mists and temperature shifts, they develop a profound, terroir-driven depth known as “mountain charm.”
- Precision Craft for Pure Expression
Processed through traditional Chaozhou steps, the crucial oxidation phase is meticulously tailored to each bush’s character. The medium roasting removes any astringency while allowing the bush’s innate aroma to shine brightly and naturally.
- A Range for Every Palate
The spectrum of aromas, from lighter floral to deeper, roasty profiles, makes Dancong approachable for newcomers seeking a fragrant cup, while offering ample depth for seasoned drinkers to explore.
Origin & Growing Environment
Our Fenghuang Dancong comes from Fenghuang Mountain in Chaozhou, Guangdong—a birthplace of oolong tea. The high-altitude environment (800-1500m) provides a humid, cloudy climate with abundant diffused light. The tea grows in deep, acidic soil rich in organic matter and minerals. The tea gardens are managed using natural methods without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Cultivation & Craftsmanship
- We employ natural cultivation methods, selectively harvesting from individual ancient bushes in spring and autumn.
- The craft is highly adaptive. The oxidation (“Zuo Qing”) time is adjusted per the bush’s aroma type. The subsequent medium roast is carefully applied by master roasters to round out the flavor without masking the unique aromatic profile, ensuring the “mountain charm” remains distinct.
Three Ways to Enjoy
- Hot Brew (For Appreciation)
Use 1 sachet per 300ml (10 oz) of water at 205-212°F (96-100°C). Steep for 1-2 minutes. Savor slowly to experience the full aromatic journey.
- Cold Brew (Smooth & Fragrant)
For a remarkably fragrant iced tea, use 1 sachet with 500ml (17 oz) of cold water. Refrigerate for 4-6 hours. Lighter aroma types are particularly excellent this way, yielding a smooth, sweet, and aromatic drink.
- Creative Infusions
- Floral Milk Tea: Add warm milk or coconut milk to a hot-brewed lighter aroma Dancong.
- Fruit-Infused Oolong: Add fresh lychee or a touch of osmanthus honey to cold brew.
- Sparkling Dancong: Mix cold brew with sparkling water and a jasmine blossom.
